Standpipe Applications

If you would like to process a standpipe application or receive a quote, please complete the below application form and a copy of your application/quote will be emailed to you and the depot for processing.

Standard Charges

25mm Metered Standpipe Rental - £33.00 per week - £964.00 Yearly in advance

40mm Metered Standpipe Rental - £60.00 per week - £1,755.00 Yearly in advance

Water Usage - £2.1195 per cubic metre
(all prices exclude V.A.T)

Delivery & Collection

We aim to deliver as soon as possible to meet your needs, to anywhere within the Yorkshire Water network (price on application), alternatively customers may prefer to collect from their nearest available depot.

Please note you will need to contact the Office prior to your requested collection date to arrange the Off‑hire.

Meter Readings

All our standpipes are now supplied with smart meters that allow us to obtain meter readings remotely. On occasions we will request a meter reading from you and this can be supplied to us by:

Hydrant Use

Standpipes are only permitted to be used on Wash-Out hydrants in the Yorkshire Water region.

Water taken from a WO must not be used for drinking or food preparation and should not be allowed to run to waste.

Please note that the application for the use of a 40mm Standpipe has to be approved by Yorkshire Water prior to being issued. It can only be used on designated Wash-Outs specific to the post code given in the application form.

The use of Fire Hydrants is strictly prohibited unless prior permission has been given by Yorkshire Water.

Yorkshire Water standpipes are only permitted to be used on Wash-Outs in the Yorkshire Water region, if you require a standpipe out of this area, please locate the correct water company via our interactive map and contact the relevant depot.

Calm Network Training

Each user operating standpipe equipment on this network must have a Calm Network Certificate.

On successful completion of the free online Calm Network Training course, operators receive a certificate. Their details are registered on a central database for a year, after which an annual refresher course is required to keep their skills up-to-date.
